Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka was a place that I never expected to travel to, but I’m definitely glad that I did. The country is diverse in what it offers to the tourists, from surfing to hiking. We got to visit a bunch of beautiful places via horse back, and that was an excellent way of viewing this beautiful place.

ONE: Visiting the temples

There are temples ranging all across Sri Lanka, which all hold different stories and backgrounds, and are well worth visiting if you like to find out the history of a place and their beliefs.

TWO: Visiting the Tea farms

Sri Lanka have many beautiful tea farms that offer tours and tastings for people. Even if you’re not a tea fan, its still a scenic tour, with some sight seeing of the tea in its different stages. My family visited the Mackwoods Tea Museum in Nuwara Eliya

THREE: Sigiriya

This place has to be one of my top 10 locations ever visited. The historical story behind this mountain is insanely interesting, as well as the hike up to the top is absolutely magical. The sights are spectular, and is definitely a recommendation if you ever visit Sri Lanka

Enjoy a picture of my family from the top. But seriously, look up pictures its crazy!!

FOUR: Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Not everyone is going to agree with the idea of an elephant orphanage, but for us we believed if there was a reason behind the elephant being there, we could visit it. What we saw when we got there was a relaxed vibe of elephants treating themselves to a bath in the river whilst we enjoyed our lunch. It was very relaxing and nice to see the elephants like that

Bath time!

FIVE: Aragum Bay

If you just want a holiday where you are relaxing without having to lift a finger, Aragum Bay is the spot for you. With a beautiful surf beach if you’re looking to catch some waves, to hotels with good pools and amazing beach views, this place just screams relaxation
